However, scholarships for International Excellence awarded by the Vice-Chancellor are not available to students who enroll in the University’s online courses.

The University of Waikato Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship is worth up to NZD$15,000.
This is often awarded to student applicants who demonstrate excellent academic achievement.

Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must be talented international students;
- He or she must also be new student enrolling to pursue an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at the University of Waikato.

Applicants must be holding an offer to be able to submit an application six weeks prior to the start of the applicant’s programme
The following documents must be attached:
- The grading scale of the student’s qualifications or a Conditional or Formal Offer of Place from the University of Waikato
- A 200 words max. personal statement

Selection Procedure
- The University of Waikato’s International Regional Managers will shortlist applications and present them to the Selection Panel.

- The Director of International and the Chair of the Scholarships Committee shall make up the Selection Panel, which will meet on a regular basis to evaluate applications.
- The choices made by the Selection Panel are final, and no communication will take place after the selection meeting.
