Steam Deck Finally Gets a Release Date. After a long time of waiting, Valve has finally decided to release the date for the very first Steam Deck. Originally slated to launch last year in December, the Steam deck was ultimately delayed till February because of a shortage of components that was caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now that we have a specific date for the release of the handheld, it looks like the valve would be able to stick hold on to the February release window.
Steam Deck Finally Gets a Release Date
Today on Twitter, Valve announced that the steam Deck would be released on the 25th, 2022. That is about four weeks from today, so the steam Deck that we have long waited for a while now would soon arrive. Right before you get too excited, there are some things that you might need to know about the Stream Deck’s Launch as outlined in a Steam News Post.
Release Date Details
To begin with, Valve stated that it would open up orders for the Steam Deck at 10AM PST/1 PM EST starting in the 25th of February, 2022. People would be invited to purchase a steam Deck in order for Valve to receive registrations, and Those who are invited on the 25th will be given three days to purchase their Steam Deck and complete their order.
Valve anticipates sending out their very first steam Decks the next week, starting in the 28th of February, 2022. From there, Valve has other plans to invite new batches of people that have been reserved a steam Deck and your availability estimate shows “Q1 2022,” you may not have a very long wait ahead of you. All those that reserved a Steam Deck would get to view their estimated order availability on steam.
Reviews would be going Live starting from the 25th, but Valve expects some previews and impressions to be published before then. So, with everything added up, February 25th is going to be a big day for the steam Deck.
Purchasing a Steam Deck
The $5 deposits Steam users were required to put down when they made their steam Deck reservations would be heading straight towards the final cost of the steam Deck, while shipping price is also included.
