The effects of the increase in price in Sonos devices will start on Sunday, 12th September. The company is an official statement that said that they are making good on a promise made during a call with investors last month. The verge reports that they have reached out to Sonos to clarify if there will be a specific timeline the said increase will happen, however.

In Sonos earnings call, the company cited that both supply and demand are factors in the company’s decision to increase the prices of its devices. The company in a statement to the verge said that its “always assessing marketing dynamics including demand, supply chain, component costs, and the competitive landscape.”

With that being said, it means that the shortage of chip currently has a lot to do with the increase in prices of these devices. This would also mean that the price increase will not be going away anytime soon. Experts in the field have suggested that the shortage of chips that have affected consoles, cars, and even computers will be around through next year if not even beyond.

The announcement by Sonos does not give consumers a lot of time to decide what they really want, whether they want to purchase the companies, speakers before the prices increase. Check here for Sonos September 12th price increase.
