Eligibility Criteria

MSc Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a first degree with a minimum classification of Second Class Upper (2.1), or a Second Class Lower (2.2) coupled with substantial industry experience that is pertinent to the field.
  • Completion of the compulsory National Youth Service (NYSC) is a prerequisite for eligibility.
  • Proficiency in using computers is an essential requirement.
  • A minimum of five O/Level credits, inclusive of English Language and Mathematics, is necessary.
  • A concise statement of purpose, not exceeding 500 words, is required. This should articulate the rationale behind the intended study, its significance for the industry, and the anticipated contributions to national progress.
  • All applicants must possess a National Identity Number (NIN). Verification of this number, for which there may be associated charges from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), is obligatory before submitting a scholarship application.

PhD Requirements

  • Applicants are required to have successfully fulfilled the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) obligation.
  • Proficiency in computer usage is an essential criterion.
  • A minimum of five credits at the Ordinary Level, with English Language and Mathematics among them, is obligatory.
  • A first degree with a minimum classification of Second Class Lower (2.2) and a commendable postgraduate qualification are prerequisites.
  • A scholarly proposal, not exceeding five pages in length and pertinent to the oil and gas sector, must be submitted. This proposal should encompass the topic, an introduction, the purpose, the methodology, and the data collection strategy.

Evaluation Criteria
