NUS Amgen Scholars Program 2025 in Singapore and Japan, Fully Funded

Through useful summer research opportunities at top-tier academic and research organizations, the NUS Amgen Scholars Program 2025 aims to inspire the next generation of innovators. The US, Europe, Japan, and now Singapore have all implemented this fully financed scholarship scheme. The National University of Singapore (NUS) is one of the more recent additions to the list of top Asian colleges offering this esteemed degree.

This undergraduate scholarship program’s primary objective is to assist individuals who wish to work in biology or related subjects. Eight weeks of extensive biomedical or biotechnological research experience in the fundamental and translational sciences are part of this program for overseas researchers.

However, the fellows will get research training and experience sharing from faculty members in the Department of Biological Sciences and other partner departments at the National University of Singapore.

Here are the benefits of the scholar’s program that applicants should know;

International Scholars

  • Accommodation: Arranged by the National University of Singapore.
  • Travel grant: up to SGD1500
  • To cover airfare to Singapore from home country and from Kyoto back to my home country after the symposium via the most direct economical route.
  • Stipend: SGD6000 for the 8-week program
  • Visa application: TEP applications will be initiated by the National University of Singapore and fees will be covered.

Local Scholars

  • Accommodation: Local students are to stay in the accommodation for the duration of the program.
  • Travel grant: Round trip airfare to and back from the Amgen Scholars Asia Symposium will be arranged and covered by the program.
  • Stipend: SGD6000 for the 8-week program

All students must arrange their own private health and travel insurance. Please be informed that neither the Amgen Foundation nor the National University of Singapore can provide health insurance.

The stipend covers all your living costs during your summer program such as local transportation, meals, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria for the program if you are an interested applicant;

  • Research in the biological sciences, especially in the domains of biotechnology and biomedicine, should be of interest.
  • Must fulfill all qualifying requirements before applying.
  • Must be enrolled in a university in Asia at the moment.
  • Should include all of the documents listed in the application checklist with their application form.
  • During the program, you are not allowed to work or enroll in other classes.
  • Should go to the Symposium and the entire program.
  • Attendance at all conferences, activities, social events, and orientation is required.
  • Must finish their research project and submit a written report.
