The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), as the operator of the NNPC/SPDC/TOTALENERGIES/NAOC Joint Venture, is implementing its Education Social Investment program to support academic excellence and boost the employability of young Nigerians.
2024 NNPC/SPDC Joint Venture University Scholarship Award Scheme
The company is calling for applications from eligible Nigerian students enrolled in full-time academic programs for the 2022/2023 session to apply for its University Scholarship Scheme.
The scholarship program is merit-based and consists of two categories:
- National Merit Award (NM): Available to all Nigerian students.
- Areas of Operation Merit Award: Available to Nigerian students who are natives of SPDC’s operational regions in Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers States.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must hold Nigerian citizenship.
- Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at an accredited university in Nigeria.
- Applicants must be either in their second year (200 level) of study or provide proof of admission into an undergraduate program for the 2022/2023 academic session.
- Applicants should not be beneficiaries of any other scholarships from oil and gas industry entities, either nationally or internationally.
Application Documents
Make sure you have properly scanned copies of the following documents ready for uploading each not exceeding 200KB in JPEG format:
- A passport photograph with a white background, taken within the last 3 months (450px by 450px).
- School ID card.
- University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission letter.
- JAMB Result.
- Letter of Identification from your state, indicating your Local Government of Origin.

To complete the application process, please follow these steps:
- Visit the application site and click on “Register” to create an account using your SPDC email address.
- Check your email inbox and activate your account by following the instructions provided.
- Log in with your registered email and password to upload your details, educational background, bank account information, and other necessary documents.
- Make sure that all the information you enter matches the details on your documents in the exact same order.
- Review all the documents you upload to prevent any errors during the uploading process.
- When asked to upload a photo, please use a passport photograph with a white background.
- Double-check all your application details to avoid mistakes. Click on https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/NNPCSPDCJV2024 to return to the SPDC application site.
- Click on “Apply Now” to submit your information.
- You will receive both an email and an SMS confirming the successful submission of your application.
