To commemorate its 35 years of incorporation and 25 years of operational success, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) announces a special edition of its prestigious Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS).
This initiative is dedicated to supporting high-achieving students from NLNG host communities, helping them complete their university education in public institutions across Nigeria.
Eligibility Criteria for the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme
Applicants must fulfill the following conditions to be eligible for the scholarship:
- Be a Nigerian citizen from one of the NLNG host communities.
- Be enrolled in a state-owned or federal university in Nigeria.
- Achieve at least five O-Level credits (including Mathematics and English) in one sitting.
- Score a minimum of 200 in the UTME examination.
- Be a full-time undergraduate in Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or Geo-science.
- Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
- Be aged between 18 and 25.
- Not receive any other scholarships, bursaries, or grants from external organizations.
- Not be related to any NLNG staff member.
- Provide a valid identification letter from their host community and Local Government Council.
Who Are the NLNG communities
The NLNG host communities are located primarily in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, specifically within Rivers State. The main host communities include:
- Bonny Island: The principal host community where NLNG’s main plant is situated.
- Finima: A significant area on Bonny Island that also hosts parts of the NLNG facilities.
- Other surrounding communities in the Bonny Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State.
These communities are integral to NLNG’s operations, and the company focuses on supporting them through various community development initiatives, including scholarships, infrastructure projects, and educational support programs.

Interested students should prepare the following documents to complete their applications:
- A recent passport-sized photo (450px by 450px, maximum size: 200kb, white background).
- O-Level and UTME examination results.
- University and JAMB admission letters.
- A university-issued student ID card.
- A birth certificate from the National Population Commission.
- A Local Government Area identification letter.
- National ID Number (NIN) slip.
- Academic transcripts signed by the university’s registry or examination unit.
- A community identification letter signed by the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman or local traditional ruler.
Ensure all files are named according to their content for easy identification.

- Click “Register” and create an account using your email address.
- Activate your account using the confirmation link sent to your email.
Filling the Application Form
- Log in to your account using your registered email and password.
- Provide detailed personal, educational, and other required information.
- Upload all scanned documents as outlined.
Final Review and Submission
- Ensure that all names used in your application match those on your documents.
- Double-check all uploaded files for accuracy.
- Upload a recent passport photo with a white background.
- Review your application to confirm there are no errors.
