McDonald recently announced a deal with beyond meat in February this year. The company after that deal, this morning, is announcing its plans to start selling plant-based beyond meat burgers in selected locations around the United States starting from next month. As of the 3rd of November, the beyond burger initiative will begin and will be available at eight McDonald’s restaurants around the US.

Although the plan and initiative is still very much in the early stages, the company McDonald is placing the deal as a form or kind of test run beyond patties that are also made from plant-based ingredients such as potatoes, peas, and rice. The deal is taking similar patterns in a number of McDonald’s international locations including the UK, Ireland, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Denmark.

McDonald’s Official Statement Regarding the beyond Meat Initiative

The company has enough to say about the announcement, and in an official statement, the company said “the patty is served on a sesame seed bun with tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and a slice of American cheese. It has the iconic taste of a McDonalds’ burger because it is one.” Also during the announcement, the company has revealed its plans to broaden the McPlant line which will include a plant-based version of pork, chicken, and egg.

In similar moves by other competitors in the industry, beyond struck a partnership with yum brands that includes pizza hut, KFC, and taco bell back in February. Impossible Foods which is a major competitor of beyond on the other hand has deals in place with burger king, Starbucks, and white castle.

When and Where Will McPlant Be Available

The beyond meat initiative, McPlant, will commence on the 3rd of November. McPlant will be available in eight McDonald’s locations across the US including Texas, Irving, and Carrolton, cedar falls, Jennings and Lake Charles, Iowa, California, Manhattan Beach, and Louisiana, and El Segundo.

Who makes McDonald’s McPlant?

McPlant is co-developed by McDonald’s and beyond meat. The chain of partnership also has devised a vegan cheese made strictly from pea protein. It is also reported that each McPlant will be prepared and cooked differently from other McDonald’s items.

The company’s sesame bun also is vegan and in addition to its vegan cheese, McPlant is topped with ketchup, vegan sauce, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. McDonald’s is taking serious steps to endure that none of its McPlant comes in contact with non-vegan grills or utensils.

And for the sake of this reason, McPlant has been certified fully as vegan by the vegetarian society. In a statement by the chief marketing officer for McDonald’s UK and Ireland Michelle Graham, she said,” as with every McDonald’s offering, we take our time tonsure it meets the highest standards and is something that all our customers will enjoy.”
