The fully funded Knight Science Journalism (KSJ) Fellowship Program is provided annually in the United States. For those who want to study a combination of fields like science, technology, and journalism, this is a great chance.
Also, participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop experience at internationally renowned universities. Ten students who live in various nations throughout the world will receive Knight Science Journalism fellowships. This research-based initiative will run for 9.5 years in the United States.
KSJ Fellowship Program
Well, Periodically, the students will receive guidance from research professionals who will oversee the KSJ Fellowship Program. Participants in this fellowship program are required to present their research projects orally after completing it. Additionally, a few of your research efforts will eventually be published as research articles or in journals, which will be an additional feather in your crown.
Also, students will have the opportunity to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds through social events hosted by the program.
KSJ Fellowship Program Requirements
Here are the requirements for this program;
- Apply for a U.S. State Department passport.
- Participate in this program by remaining in Boston for 9.5 months.
- Participate in all academic and social events.
- Every semester, choose at least one science course.
- not have anyone complete any sponsored research for you
- Finish the chosen research project within the allotted program time.
Required Documents

- Five examples of the job you have previously completed
- Three recommendation letters that contain all of the recommenders’ information.
Eligibility Criteria
Here are the eligibility criteria you must meet for the KSJ Fellowship Program 2025-26 in the USA.
- Journalists must be employed full-time to apply. This holds true for both freelancing and staff jobs. Producers and writers who work part-time are not eligible.
- Three years or more of experience in science, medicine, or journalism
- Applications are open to journalists, media writers, media correspondents, and filmmakers.
- Participants should not have participated in any four-month fellowship program within the previous two years.
Application Instructions

- Complete the online application.
- Include all pertinent documentation.
- Applications that are not complete will not be accepted.
- Although this deadline is advised, recommendation letters can still be sent until January 21, 2025. Applications that are not complete will not be accepted.
- A group of eminent science journalists evaluates the proposals between January and March.
- Semifinalists are chosen for video interviews and informed at the beginning of March. At this point, non-semifinalists are also notified.
