The Ilia Calderón Scholarship, in partnership with One Young World and the Jang Calderón Family Foundation, continues its mission to empower Afro-descendant and Indigenous leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This prestigious scholarship aims to support young individuals aged 18 to 30 who are driving social change and innovation in their communities.
The scholarship covers the full participation cost for two selected leaders to attend the One Young World 2025 Summit in Munich, Germany, where they will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share their ideas, and gain inspiration to continue their impactful work.

Scholarship Benefits
- Access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich.
- Hotel accommodation in a private room between 2 – 6 November 2025.
- Travel expenses: Economy-class flights to and from Munich.
- Domestic travel costs to the airport for the international flight (economy class).
- Visa costs, if applicable.
- Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue.
- Catering, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner (provided by the hotel and during the Summit).
- Translation services from English to Spanish in the plenary sessions, welcome, and closing events.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be:
- Aged 18 – 30 at the time of the One Young World Summit 2025, which takes place in Munich, Germany, from 3 – 6 November 2025.
- From one of the following eligible nationalities:
Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Guyana, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil, Puerto Rico.
Candidates will also be evaluated based on:
- Their commitment to and potential benefits for the communities or territories to which they belong.
- The relevance of the initiatives they lead or participate in.
- Demonstrated leadership capacity.
- Addressing key local and/or global issues in their community or territories.
- A track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas.
- Their motivation to participate in One Young World.
