They fly 75 to 100 hours a month and usually spend an additional 50 hours a month on the ground, preparing flights, writing reports, and writing for planes to arrive.

Being a Flight Attendant can be a physically challenging job as you will spend a large amount of time on your feet helping passengers with luggage and working food and beverage carts.

  • They order passengers in the right direction, also show them how to evacuate the aircraft in an emergency

  • They conduct inspections of emergency equipment
  • They make sure that passengers have their seatbelts fastened
  • Handle security issues when required
  • They distribute reading material, blankets, and other amenities for the comfort of passengers.
  • Ensuring that adequate supplies of emergency equipment and refreshments are on board.

How much Does Flight Attendant Earn

They were paid between $50k and $60k in the past year. Recently, their salary has been increased to $80.

Becoming a Flight Attendant

The following are ways to become a Flight Attendance.

  • You must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a certificate in the responsible serving of alcohol.
  • You need to have an excellent level of health and fitness, like being able to swim 50 meters fully clothed unassisted and tread water for 3 minutes
  • You need to have a Senior First Aid Certificate which is a two days course with a validity of 12 months at the time of application
  • You might be required to have Australian or New Zealand permanent residency if you wish to become an international Flight Attendant.
  • You will need a passport ensuring unrestricted access to all international ports of call with at least 12 months of validity.
  • You may be required to gain your Senior Secondary Certificate of Education.
  • A tourism diploma may help you gain entry to this occupation and/or relevant skills in the hospitality or customer service industry.
