The Global Investigative Journalism Conference (GIJC) is the premier event for investigative and data journalists worldwide.
Held every two years, the 2025 conference will take place from November 20-24 at the renowned Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.
This year’s conference is co-hosted by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) and Malaysiakini, an independent online news outlet celebrated for its commitment to press freedom and impactful journalism.

Fellowship Opportunities Available!
With support from sponsors, GIJC25 offers fellowships for journalists from the Global South and historically underrepresented groups. This prestigious fellowship covers:
- Round-trip airfare to Kuala Lumpur
- Hotel stay for four nights
- Airport transfers
- Meals and conference registration fees
Fellowship Eligibility and Requirements
To qualify, applicants should be full-time journalists in print, online, TV, radio, or multimedia fields, particularly those in developing or transitioning countries. Priority is given to applicants from the Global South and underrepresented groups.
Fellowship Requirements
After the conference, fellows are required to either:
- Publish a story based on GIJC25 insights or
- Present your learnings to colleagues or the broader journalism community.

- Cocktail reception (Nov 20)

Note: Fellows are responsible for any visa fees, airport transfers from their home country, and daily expenses.
