France Government Excellence Scholarship 2025 Details
The 2025 France Government Excellence Scholarship, also known as France Excellence, is being implemented by the Embassy of France in Ghana.
This program includes the Séjours Scientifiques de Haut Niveau (SSHN) or High-Level Scientific Stays, aimed at strengthening collaboration between French institutions and international researchers.
It supports PhD students, PhD holders, and academic staff from around the world who want to spend 1 to 2 months at a higher education or research institution in France.
The SSHN program is also a great opportunity to expand international cooperation and promote knowledge-sharing between institutions.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the French Government Excellence Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Hold a tenure position in a public or private higher education institution or scientific research laboratory.
- Be a PhD student or a PhD holder.
- Be non-EU nationals (binational candidates with EU citizenship are not eligible).
- Be classified as:
- Young Researchers (PhD obtained within the last 5 years), or
- Confirmed Researchers (PhD obtained more than 5 years ago).

The French Government Excellence Scholarship 2025 covers:
- A round-trip air ticket to France
- A monthly allowance for personal and research expenses
