The DAAD DeKUT Masters Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for Sub-Saharan African students interested in pursuing an MSc in Food Science and Technology at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) in Kenya.
This program provides full tuition, monthly stipends, research allowances, summer school access, research stays in Germany, and skill training.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be nationals or permanent residents of a Sub-Saharan African country.
- Demonstrate strong motivation and commitment.
- Have completed their last degree within the last six years.
- Hold a BSc in Food Science and Technology with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or a related field like Food Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Nutrition.
- Generally, be a staff member at a public university or a candidate considered for teaching, research, or public sector roles.
Required Documents
- Curriculum vitae (CV) with a publication list (if applicable).
- Motivation letter (1-2 pages).
- Passport or National ID copy.
- Recommendation letter from a university lecturer, including English proficiency.
- Certified copies of degree certificates and transcripts.
- Research concept for a Master’s thesis (max. 3 pages).
- English translations of documents if in another language.
- UNHCR registration (for refugees, if applicable).
