Conservation Nation is dedicated to supporting innovative on-the-ground conservation efforts worldwide, particularly led by practitioners from underrepresented backgrounds. Our primary goal is to promote conservation solutions that benefit both the environment and communities in terrestrial, marine, or freshwater ecosystems with diverse biodiversity.

The 2024 Conservation Nation Grant Program seeks to provide financial support to conservationists involved in wildlife conservation, protection of biodiversity, and sustainable practices.

Benefits

  • This grant aims to support early to mid-career conservationists by offering individual grants of up to US$2,500. These funds will cover vital activities necessary for their crucial work, which may not be covered by traditional grant programs.
  • Apart from financial support, we also offer additional assistance to our grantees through the Conservation Nation Network. This network provides ongoing professional development, valuable resources, networking opportunities, and capacity-building initiatives, ensuring that conservationists have the necessary tools for growth and success.
  • By providing unique financial aid and a strong support network, we aim to empower conservationists to feel valued and supported in their important endeavors towards creating a thriving planet for both people and wildlife.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Early to mid-career conservationists with up to 10 years of experience.
  • Conservationists from underrepresented communities.
  • Individual conservationists actively involved in wildlife conservation projects.
  • Full-time conservation professionals working at a conservation organization or NGO.
  • Graduate students and above who are pursuing conservation studies (Students must provide their program director’s name and email address).
  • While they welcome applications from conservationists working in various regions, they specifically encourage wildlife conservationists operating in biodiversity hotspots such as the California Floristic Province, North American Coastal Plain, Mountains of Central Asia, Guinean Forests of West Africa, Atlantic Forest, and Southwestern Australia to apply.

How To Apply for Conservation Nation Grant

  • The grant is aimed at individuals, and the person applying for the grant must complete and submit the application.
  • The grant portal . is the only acceptable channel for submitting applications. Applications submitted through email will not be taken into account or considered.
