- A minimum of an upper second-class (2:1) honors degree or a lower second-class degree plus an appropriate postgraduate certificate (often a Master’s degree) must be held by September 2025.
- Before September/October 2025, they must not be enrolled in a PhD program or an MPhil program leading to a PhD in a UK university or in their home country.
- Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
