The CAS-ANSO Scholarship is a fully funded program aimed at international students pursuing Master’s or PhD programs in China and sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in collaboration.
With the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations (ANSO), the scholarship seeks to develop global scientific talent, promote innovation, and support international scientific cooperation.

- University of Science and Technology of China (USTC)
- University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS)
- Research Institutes affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Not hold Chinese citizenship.
- Be proficient in English or Chinese.
- Meet the following age requirements: Master’s applicants: Born after January 1, 1995. PhD applicants: Born after January 1, 1990.
- Satisfy the admission criteria of USTC/UCAS for international students.
- Not take up other assignments during the scholarship period.
- Not be currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD at any Chinese university
Scholarship Benefits
- Full tuition coverage.
- Accommodation in university dormitories.
- Health insurance and visa-related allowances.
- Living stipends: Master’s recipients: 3,000 CNY/month (up to 36 months). PhD recipients: 6,000–7,000 CNY/month (up to 48 months).
- International travel allowance (home country to China).
- Waiver of application fees.
Application Process
- Apply through the USTC or UCAS admission system: USTC: USTC Admission Portal, UCAS: UCAS Admission Portal
- Select “CAS-ANSO Scholarship” during the application.
- (Optional) Indicate interest in the CAS-ANSO-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship in the system.
- Important Note: Applicants cannot apply simultaneously to both USTC and UCAS.
