Selected initiatives will be showcased at the Forum in Strasbourg, France, from 5–7 November 2025. The Council of Europe will cover travel and accommodation expenses for one representative per selected initiative.

About the World Forum for Democracy
The World Forum for Democracy is a unique platform for political decision-makers, activists, and civil society to discuss solutions to key challenges facing democracies worldwide. By identifying and analyzing experimental initiatives and practices, the Forum highlights and encourages democratic innovations at the grassroots level and their transfer to systemic levels to strengthen democratic societies.
Eligibility Criteria
The call for initiatives is open to both public and private organizations from any country, including:
- Governmental bodies
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- International institutions
- Community-based organizationsFunds
Initiatives should aim to promote democratic values and sustainable peace, addressing contemporary challenges such as disinformation, political polarization, and democratic backsliding.
