The Changemakers Innovation Challenge was created by ACT Foundation to recognize and support African non-profits and social enterprises that use technology and digital tools to drive social change.
Aspire Coronation Trust Foundation Changemakers Innovation Challenge
The challenge aims to identify innovative solutions in areas such as mobile health, farm automation, telemedicine, education, microfinance, and more. ACT Foundation seeks to partner with forward-thinking organizations and innovators to create lasting impact.
The challenge is open to non-profits, social enterprises, and businesses across Africa that are developing innovative solutions using technology and digital tools. The top three winners will receive grant funding to scale their solutions across different communities, while selected finalists will also receive technical support in the form of software, hardware, or capacity-building training.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Changemakers Innovation Challenge is open to Non-profits, Social enterprises and Businesses with innovations that lead to social impact
- Eligible applicants must submit innovations that address challenges related to any of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Previous winners of the Changemakers Innovation Challenge are not eligible for funding.
- Eligible organizations must be registered with the relevant government agency in their country. At least two years old.
- Submissions must be innovative solutions that use technology or digital systems as a key tool for driving community impact. Evidence of claims must be provided through online sources (e.g. web links, videos, pictures).
- Social innovations must have been tested or implemented on direct beneficiaries and provide evidence of this (e.g. pictures, news releases).
- All submissions must be at the growth stage and have been implemented within the past two years. Pilot innovations are not eligible for consideration.
How to Apply
- The Changemakers Innovation Challenge entry period runs from June 24th, 2024 to July 12th, 2024. Late entries will not be accepted.
- Each organization can only submit one entry, and no changes will be accepted once an entry has been submitted.
- All entries must be in English.
- There is no entry fee, purchase, or payment required to apply.
- The top three winners will receive grant funding to scale their innovative solutions across different communities, with technical support also available as needed.
- The winners will be announced and awarded at the annual ACT Foundation Breakfast Dialogue in October 2024. For more information, visit actrustfoundation.org.
