The launch of its OLED models will be next month. And Nintendo is already lowering the prices of its base switch models all across Europe. In Europe, the Nintendo Switch is now priced at €299.99. There is now a €30drop from the original price of €329.99. In the UK however, the price of the switch base model has also been adjusted to £259.99. There has now been a £20 price drop from the previous £279.99.

At the moment the new pricing structure can only be found at the Nintendo store. Eurogamer reports that the price hasn’t yet been reflected at other retailers such as Amazon yet. Due to the small changes, one can easily relate it to a currency-related change in the pricing. But this change is arriving just a few weeks before the Nintendo OLED switch is due to go on sale.

In a statement to the verge, a Nintendo spokesperson said “after carefully weighing up a variety of factors, including currency exchange rates in Europe and the upcoming launch of Nintendo switch OLED model, we decided that now was the appropriate time to change the European trade price of Nintendo switch.”

The Nintendo OLED Version Price

The Nintendo switch OLED model will cost €364.99 in Europe and £309.99 in the United Kingdom. You will notice that the little price drop in the latter switch models has created a large price gap between the OLED and original models, given that the OLED version is about the changes in screen and no significant change in hardware upgrades.

When Will The Nintendo OLED Version go on Sale

The Nintendo switch OLED version will be going on sale on the 8th of October. And during a first look at the device, we noticed that the big difference in price was due to a small upgrade. The main additions are the brighter and bigger screens, speaker improvements, a new kickstand, and a new Ethernet port on the dock.
