The Africa Scholarship Program (ASP) at Wageningen University provides talented students from Africa with the opportunity to pursue a fully funded Master’s degree.

Scholarship Details

The ASP covers:

  • Full tuition fees (€17,300/year)
  • Relocation expenses to and from the Netherlands
  • Accommodation and living expenses for 24 months
  • Visa and health insurance costs
  • Funding for one European seminar (including travel, stay, and registration)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an African country.
  • Apply and secure unconditional admission to a Master’s program at Wageningen University before the deadline.

  • Be among the top 5% of students with a first-class honors degree (GPA of 80% or higher).

Application Procedure

Step 1: Apply for an MSc program by February 1, 2025.

We will consider eligible candidates who meet the requirements for an invitation to participate in the ASP selection process.

 Invitation to Apply

  • On March 13, 2025, admitted candidates will be evaluated and selected students will receive an email invitation to join the ASP selection process.
  • Selected candidates must complete and submit an assignment by March 25, 2025.

Online Interview

  • We will evaluate the submitted assignments.
  • A shortlist of candidates will be invited for online interviews between April 22 and May 1, 2025.
  • We will inform candidates of their interview status following the assessment of their assignments.

Results Notification

Final results will be announced on May 8, 2025. Outcomes may include:

  • Awarding of the ASP scholarship
  • Placement on a waiting list
  • Denial of the scholarship

  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Personal Statement detailing prior education
