In exchange for tuition fees, Halmstad University grants many scholarships each year to students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. Students in any field who apply to Halmstad University’s Master’s programs may be eligible for these scholarships.
25% or 50% of the tuition is covered by the Halmstad University Scholarship, which will be subtracted from the total cost. Living expenses are not covered by the scholarship, and family members are not eligible for any grants.
Scholarships for students who must pay tuition fees are available from Halmstad University in accordance with the scholarship regulations for students who must pay tuition fees (SFS 2010:718). Halmstad University will provide more details on the prerequisites needed to award scholarships.

Scholarship Distribution
All of Halmstad University’s programs are eligible to receive scholarships.
Qualified applicants receive information about the application procedure immediately.
Also, the scholarship application is completed online at our website, and the applicant will receive an email informing them if they have been awarded the scholarship. When distributing, the following factors are taken into account:
- The application must be completed in compliance with Halmstad University’s rules.
- The university’s reputation and the demand for competent students in particular fields.
- The scholarship fund offered by the university.
- The endeavor is to reach a level of admission that is equal for both gender and nation.
Eligibility

- The applicant is a citizen of a country outside the EU/EES and is required to pay tuition fees.

How to Apply for Scholarship at Halmstad University
Here are some instructions on how to apply;
- Pay the application fee and apply for one of our Master’s programs at University Admissions.
- An email with a link to the online application form is sent to applicants who submitted their applications on time (15 January) and were deemed eligible on 4 March.
- Complete the scholarship application online. Please be aware that the application number you will get from University Admissions must be provided.
- Scholarships will be given out by the committee according to the students’ academic merits (GPA, prior university rating, and English language skills). The student’s financial status or work experience will not be taken into account.
- Candidates who prioritize a Halmstad University program in their application will be given preference in the nomination process.
- To promote diversity, Halmstad University will give preference to applicants from underrepresented nations.
- Following the initial Notification of Selection Results in mid-March, Halmstad University will send out an email to the scholarship beneficiaries.
- A letter of nomination for the scholarship and an invoice showing the amount deducted will be sent to the recipients. By the deadline indicated in the nomination letter, the scholarship must be accepted or rejected.
- Individual notifications will not be sent to students who do not receive a scholarship offer. You have not been granted a scholarship if you receive an invoice for the entire cost of tuition.

Deadline
Scholarship applications for studies beginning in the fall of 2024 at Halmstad University were accepted from March 8–15, 2024. At the end of April, recipients received an email notification from the scholarship committee.
