Overview of Georgetown University GHD Scholarship

The GHD Program provides merit-based scholarships to international students from specific regions:

  • Sub-Saharan Africa: At least one full-tuition scholarship and several partial scholarships, supported by the Amre and Caroline Heinz-Youness Family and the William and Catherine McGurn Family.
  • Philippines: The Father Bienvenido Nebres, S.J. Scholarship covers full tuition for one student.
  • Asia: A partial tuition scholarship is available.
  • Latin America: The Beeck Latin America Endowed Scholarship covers 50% of tuition for one student.
  • Middle East: A partial tuition scholarship is offered.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the GHD Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree and have completed courses in introductory macro- and microeconomics and statistics with a grade of B or better
  • Language Proficiency: English and one other language
  • Should have 1-2 years of full-time work experience post-undergraduate degree (strongly recommended)
  • Expected to have experience living, studying, or working outside the United States (strongly recommended)

All applications submitted by December 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST will have the application fee waived. After this date, fee waivers may be available for those who meet specific requirements.
