About the AfricaCDC Biomanufacturing Fellowship Programme
The AfricaCDC Biomanufacturing Fellowship Programme is built to strengthen Africa’s pharmaceutical and vaccine production ecosystem by developing top-tier professionals from within the continent. The fellowship is designed in alignment with the Africa CDC Vaccine R&D and Manufacturing Competency Frameworks.
It delivers a 2-year hybrid experience that includes:
- In-depth theoretical learning
- Hands-on industry training
- Specialisation in a chosen area
- Exposure to leadership, mentorship, and entrepreneurship
Fellows will stay employed but must travel for selected short-term training sessions during the fellowship period.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Currently employed in a biomanufacturing company in an AU Member State
- Hold a Master’s degree (or higher) in:
- Pharmacy
- Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Biochemical Engineering
- Be a citizen of a country with an active vaccine manufacturing company
- Possess a valid international passport
- Commit time to virtual and in-person training sessions
- Obtain employer support, including a letter confirming availability and permission for leave of absence
Selection Process
The selection committee under the Africa CDC PHAHM will screen and review all applications. Only five (5) outstanding candidates will be selected and fully sponsored.
