AKFC offers numerous options for Canadians to practice and express their global citizenship, one of which is the International Youth Fellowship. Established in 1989, the Fellowship program is a nine-month professional development program that supports robust, local, and successful institutions in Asia and Africa while providing Canadians with practical experience in international development.

AKFC International Youth Fellowship 2025

Well, Canadian recent graduates and early-career professionals have the opportunity to advance their careers with a global perspective through the AKFC International Youth Fellowship. The AKFC fellowship program consists of an eight-month foreign deployment followed by three weeks of rigorous pre-departure training in Ottawa.

With the Aga Khan Development Network’s (AKDN) assistance, fellows collaborate with regional organizations in Africa and Asia to carry out initiatives aimed at enhancing community well-being.

Eligibility Criteria for AKFC International Youth Fellowship 2025

There are eligibility criteria for the program and they include;

By April 30, 2025, candidates must have obtained a bachelor’s degree or more from an accredited university with a strong academic record.
No educational program shall be attended by candidates during the Fellowship period, which runs from June 2025 to February 2026.
must possess relevant employment, volunteer, or academic experience that demonstrates a commitment to international development.
be under 30 years old on January 31, 2025.
Candidates must be citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
English proficiency is necessary.
Submission of all required documents is required, including a resume, academic degrees, transcripts, references, etc.
